Sins of AI is an independent consumer safety guide to AI companion apps. We read the regulator findings, the lawsuits, and the fine print, then translate them into plain checks anyone can run before typing something intimate into a chatbot. Everything here is SFW and written for adults; our consistent position is that no companion app is appropriate for unsupervised minors.
The free Red Flag Checker on our homepage scores any companion app from 0 to 100 on the five risks that carry most of the harm: age gates, data transparency, paywalled affection, guilt-trip mechanics, and deletion paths. The guides document what we find, and the email list gets a short alert when a major app changes its rules.
